Pinoy Health: ECQ Extension in Cebu

Cebu City and Cebu Province are included in the list of HIGH RISK areas. President Rodrigo Duterte gave orders for the extension of the Enhanced Community Quarantine until May 15, 2020.

As of yesterday, Cebu City alone holds 412 COVID-19 positive cases (89.76%) making a total of 459 cases for Central Visayas. The latest tally of 63 confirmed cases came from Cebu City Jail.

Align with this, The Province is planning to purchase 50,000 rapid test kits for the massive targeted testing for persons under monitoring (PUM), the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) and other areas based on population density and geographical location (nearness to areas infected with Covid-19). The massive targeted testing is part of the Provincial Government’s preparations for a modified enhanced community quarantine.

I think that the Province is making all its efforts to contain the virus. And what Cebuanos needs to do know is to cooperate and avoid going out for unnecessary matters. We need to assume that we are on a total lockdown because in this way we can minimize movement that could possible spread the virus. We can't prolong much longer compromising the economy.
